Tragic Traffic Collision on Interstate 80 Led to Fatality [Berkeley, CA]

Berkeley, CA (August 2, 2024) On Thursday morning, at least one person was killed after a tragic traffic collision on Interstate 80.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly traffic crash happened at about 3:40 a.m. on the I-80’s westbound lanes near Ashby Avenue.

Reports say that a big rig was involved in the traffic collision, officials say that at least 2 lanes westbound I-80 were closed starting near University Avenue.

Officials say that at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP is investigating the deadly traffic crash and have not released additional information at this time.
