Massive Traffic Collision on Highway 83 Led to Injuries [Zapata County, TX]

5 People Hurt in 3-Vehicle Collision on Highway 83

Zapata County, TX (November 11, 2023) On Saturday morning, a massive traffic collision on Highway 83 left 5 people injured.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 4-vehicle collision happened around 5 a.m. on Highway 83 near mile marker 746.

Reports say that the driver of a southbound white Ford pick up truck, lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a red Ford pick up truck.

Afterward, a southbound gray Toyota SUV crashed into the white Ford pick up truck.

Officials say that the white pickup was occupied by a man in his 30s, while the Red Ford was driven by a man in his 40s and a male passenger, and the SUV was occupied by an elderly couple.

Medics transported the white Ford driver to the hospital, officials say that the man suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition with head trauma, meanwhile, the male passenger of the Red Ford decline transport, while all other involved were taken to the hospital.

Authorities are investigating the multi-vehicle crash.
