Horrific Traffic Accident on Brimhall Road Kills Toddler [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (November 18, 2024) On Saturday evening, a 2-year-old boy was killed in a horrific traffic accident on Brimhall Road.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD), the fatal crash happened around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Brimhall Road and Jenkins Road.

Reports say that the deadly crash occurred in Northwest Bakersfield. Police determined that a red Honda traveling westbound collided with a red Chevrolet traveling northbound.

Authorities say that a 2-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the drivers of either vehicle, and both drivers remained on the scene, cooperating with the investigation.

At this time, excessive speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash. The intersection is controlled by stop signs in all directions. Brimhall Road has a speed limit of 50 mph, while Jenkins Road’s speed limit is 45 mph.
