Vehicle Burned in Crash on Interstate 580
Livermore, CA (August 16, 2020) – On Thursday, a tractor-trailer ignited after being involved in a crash on Interstate 580 near Vasco Road.
The incident happened at about 11:45 a.m. on August 13.
CHP said there was a traffic collision that closed the right and center westbound lanes of the freeway, west of Greenville Road.
Also, they said there was an issue with fuel spilled in the incident.
Furthermore, CHP Dublin Twitter posted on their Twitter account posted a photo showing a plume of smoke rising from the vehicle on fire. The incident caused the traffic to back up to Greenville Road.
At around 12:40 p.m., authorities said that it was a tractor-trailer that had been in a crash and ended up in a fire.
Authorities advised the motorists to expect residual delays and to use alternate routes to avoid the area.
Then, at about 1:15 p.m., authorities announced that all lanes were reopened.
CHP in Livermore issued an all-clear Thursday afternoon when lanes were reopened after the collision.
