Phoenix, AZ (September 15, 2024) – A crash on Interstate 10 involving a tractor-trailer near the New Mexico State line Saturday left three people dead and two in critical condition.

Arizona DPS responded to the two-vehicle crash on westbound I-10 in San Simon, Arizona, shortly after 5 p.m.

The collision resulted in the deaths of three passengers in one vehicle and critically injured two others. 

The tractor-trailer caught fire during the crash, and the driver’s condition remains unknown.

Authorities shut down the westbound lanes for the investigation, but they have since reopened with one lane still restricted.
