Toyota Driver Injured in Fatal Collision on First Avenue [San Diego, CA]

Rider Loses Life in Ash Street Collision

San Diego, CA (August 20, 2022) – Yesterday, a 32-year-old motorcycle rider died and a 38-year-old Toyota driver sustained injuries in a traffic collision on First Avenue.

The fatal crash happened minutes before 2 a.m. at the intersection with Ash Street.

According to the authorities, a motorcyclist on a northbound Harley Davidson was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at the intersection.

At the same time, a Toyota Prius was westbound and was broadsided by the motorcycle rider.

Sadly, the motorcycle rider died at the scene while the Toyota driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the cause of the Ash Street collision. They say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the incident.
