Pedestrian Accident on Madonna Road Kills Tourist in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO (October 10, 2019) — An out-of-town tourist died in a pedestrian accident on Madonna Road Tuesday night.
According to the San Luis Obispo police, a car struck the tourist at about 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Madonna Road. The pedestrian was crossing the street when she was hit.
The police identified the victim as a 62-year-old woman. They said she was unconscious and unresponsive when first responders arrived at the scene. She died at the hospital.
On the other hand, the officers evaluated the 30-year-old driver for DUI. They determined that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision.
The police did not arrest the driver. It didn’t appear that the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when she was hit according to an initial report.
