Killeen, TX (June 12, 2023) On Sunday morning, motorcyclist Eric Rucker was fatally injured in a tragic accident on Elms Road.

According to the Killeen Police Department (KPD), the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 2:31 a.m. at the 1900 block of East Elms Road.

Reports say that Rucker and another motorcyclist were traveling west when an item dropped from Rucker’s motorcycle. Both riders stopped to retrieve the item, however, a passing gray sedan hit Rucker, and the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render help to the fallen man.

Authorities say that despite paramedics attending to a man lying on the roadway, Rucker ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Killeen police are searching for the suspect driver and their vehicle, described as a smaller gray sedan which may have front end and windshield damage.
