Semi-Truck Overturns in Collision near Lebec Road
LEBEC, CA (October 24, 2018) – On Wednesday afternoon, a tire blowout was suspected to cause a semi-truck crash on 5 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 3:38 PM in the southbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Lebec Road.
Based on an initial report from the police, a tire blowout caused the semi with a set of tanker trailers to overturn and crash into a tree. Due to impact of the incident, one of its trailer was split into two. A sedan was reportedly involved in the incident.
The paramedics confirmed that the involved motorists sustained injuries. Fortunately, the victims’ conditions were said to be minor.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what might have caused the collision, and no additional information has been released to the public at this time.
