Tina Coats Dead, Faustino Ochoa and Declan Kenny Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Lake Elsinore
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (June 23, 2019) – Authorities have identified Tina Coats, 51, as the woman who was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday morning in Lake Elsinore.
The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. on Highway 74 near El Cariso Road. In addition, police stated it happened just west of Hell’s Kitchen Motorsports Bar and Grill. 62-year-old Michael Zawicki drove a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle down Highway 74. Police report that Coats was a passenger on the motorcycle.
Zawicki traveled westbound when he made a complete stop due to an earlier crash. After that, as they sat on the idle bike, a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2018 Ducati motorcycle rounded a bend.
Both motorcyclists braked when they saw the traffic stopped directly ahead of them. However, one of the bikes struck the left side of the Harley, impacting Coats.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived within a few minutes and pronounced Coats dead at the scene.
The two riders, a 60-year-old Faustino Ochoa of Aliso Viejo and 51-year-old Declan Kenny of San Clemente, were injured. However, Zawicki did not sustain any injuries.
Highway 74 closed in both directions while police investigated the accident.
