Timothy Ellis and Leslie Doss Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 395 in Adelanto

Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 395 near Colusa Road

 
ADELANTO, CA (March 20, 2018) – Two drivers were fatally injured in a head-on crash on Highway 395 just north of Colusa Road, early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, 39-year-old Leslie Doss of Victorville was driving northbound on Highway 395 in a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, when she crossed over the double yellow lines to pass two other vehicles ahead of her. She was reportedly traveling at high speeds.
 
The Hyundai then veered directly into the path of a southbound 2015 Chevrolet Captiva, driven by 36-year-old Timothy Ellis of Helendale.
 
Both drivers attempted to turn their vehicles west to try and avoid a collision but collided head-on, around 4:35 AM. San Bernardino County Fire personnel had to pull out the victims from the wreckage. Ellis and Doss sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
 
Based on preliminary investigations, Ellis was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be contributing factors in the fatal accident.
