Pasadena Man Dies in Morning 2-Car Crash at El Molino Avenue and Villa Street
PASADENA, CA (June 13, 2019) – A man was killed following a two-car crash Thursday morning in Pasadena.
The crash happened around 6:40 a.m. at El Molino Avenue and Villa Street.
A gray Kia was traveling eastbound on Villa Street when it collided with a white sedan heading southbound on El Molino Avenue.
The impact ripped the driver-side door off the Kia, throwing the driver into the roadway. That driver, identified as a 51-year-old Timothy Jon Carey of Pasadena, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics took one passenger in the Kia to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Two men in the other sedan were not injured. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
It appeared one of the involved vehicles ran a red light prior to the crash.
