67-Year-Old Spokane Man Dies after Semi-Truck Crash near Milepost 75
SPOKANE, WA (January 25, 2019) – A man was killed Friday afternoon following a semi-truck crash near milepost 75. The victim was later identified as 67-year-old Tim Simchuk, a resident of Spokane.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:19 PM. The victim was driving southbound on Highway 195 when he crossed the center line and collided with a semi-truck.
Emergency crews arrived and attempted to resuscitate the severely injured driver. Unfortunately, Simchuk succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck, 81-year-old Emerson Grafmiller of Colbert, was not injured in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
