Tiffini Cunningham Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 40th Street and Cactus Road in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (March 18, 2022) – Friday afternoon, Tiffini Cunningham died and four others sustained severe injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on  40th Street and Cactus Road.

The fatal multi-vehicle crash in Phoenix happened on March 18.

Phoenix Police said an SUV with five individuals inside was traveling eastbound on Cactus Road, hitting a sedan trying to turn southbound onto 40th Street. 

The SUV then struck a signal light pole, adding impact to passengers inside.

Cunningham, a passenger in the SUV sustained fatal injuries.

The other four who are currently in critical condition are a man, an 18-year-old man, and two 17-year-old girls.

Police said impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision at this time.

Further investigation to determine the circumstances of this crash is ongoing.
