Motorcyclist Sustains Injuries in I-5 Collision
Tacoma, WA (August 16, 2022) – On Tuesday, at around 1 a.m., people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near South 56th Street.
The authorities say they received a report about three cars that were racing prior to a collision.
After the three-car collision, a 57-year-old male motorcyclist and his 32-year-old female passenger clipped one of the vehicles. The emergency rescuers rushed them to a hospital with serious injuries.
Similarly, the paramedics also took a 35-year-old man who was driving one of the cars to the hospital.
“We actually hear about these occurrences quite frequently, especially lately. This has been happening a lot more over the last year, year and a half. We’ve definitely been noticing an uptick in speeds and aggressive, very dangerous driving,” an officer says.
In the meantime, the authorities are still investigating if the drivers involved in the I-5 collision were under the influence at the time of crash. They added that there is the potential for criminal charges to be filed for vehicular assault.
