CHP Officers Hurt in Multi-Car Crash Near Warner Avenue
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (September 27, 2019) – Three people suffered injuries in a DUI crash on 405 Freeway on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened between Warner Avenue and Brookhurst Street shortly before 3:00 AM.
Based on a report, a truck and a Toyota Prius traveled south on the freeway when they were struck from behind by a speeding Chrysler. The Prius was pushed to the left and crashed into a marked CHP patrol vehicle that stopped with its hazard lights on.
The paramedics reported that two CHP officers and another motorist sustained injuries in the incident.
The crash prompted the closure of all southbound lanes of the freeway for several hours.
Police arrested the driver of the Chrysler on allegations of driving under the influence. However, the crash is under investigation.
