Three Injured in DUI Collision on Mission Bay Drive [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (July 2, 2024) – Three people were transported to a hospital following a DUI Collision on Mission Bay Drive Sunday evening.

The authorities received the crash report past 6:30 p.m. at the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp in Pacific Beach.

Troopers said a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 34-year-old man driving has broadsided a Toyota Prius driven by a 76-year-old man and with a passenger.

As a result, the Malibu driver sustained a ruptured lung while the Prius passenger incurred a ruptured diaphragm, which officers said as life-threatening. 

The Prius driver stated he was in pain.

SDPD troopers said the Prius driver appeared to be under the influence at the time of the collision.
