Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Barrio Logan Accident
BARRIO LOGAN, CA (June 26, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a car crash on National Avenue Wednesday morning.
Authorities stated the accident occurred at 9:10 AM at the intersection of National Avenue and Cesar E. Chavez Parkway.
Per reports, a 27-year-old man driving a 2017 Nissan Altima ran the stoplight. As a result, he hit a patrol vehicle. After that, the patrol vehicle crashed into a 34-year-old pedestrian before slamming into a convenient store.
Medics arrived shortly after the crash. The officer involved sustained serious leg injuries. In addition, an Altima passenger sustained injuries. Both were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. However, the pedestrian was critically injured. Paramedics took him to a trauma center immediately. However, authorities did not update the public on the victim’s medical status.
The intersection closed for a period of time. In addition, a cleaning crew arrived to the scene following the wreckage.
There has been no further information released regarding the details of the incident at this time. An investigation continues.
