Rider Hit by Car on 10 Freeway in Thousand Palms
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (April 28, 2019) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a traffic collision late Sunday evening in Thousand Palms.
The crash took place at 11:45 p.m. on eastbound 10 Freeway, just West of Bob Hope Drive.
According to the CHP, a motorcycle was hit by a Hyundai and was trapped underneath the car. The rider was also trapped and injured from the crash.
Responding paramedics took the rider to Desert Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.
Towing services removed both the bike and the car from the crash site.
Authorities shut down the first, third, and fourth lanes of the freeway while the documented the incident. All lanes were reopened roughly at 12:44 a.m. Monday.
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
