Thomas Rodriguez of Merced Dies in La Grange Road Head-On Crash [La Grange, CA]

La Grange, CA (January 31, 2022) – On Saturday, 50-year-old Thomas Rodriguez of Merced died, while 60-year-old Gregorio Carvajal Favela of Winton sustained injuries in a head-on crash on La Grange Road.

The fatal crash happened at 12:07 a.m. north of Old La Grange Road.

Officers said that an unidentified 2021 Kia female driver and Rodriguez, her passenger, were northbound at an undetermined speed. 

At the same time, Favela with his two passengers in a 2017 Acura RDX was southbound on La Grange Road.

The Kia driver swerved into the southbound lane and collided head-on with Favela’s vehicle.

As a result, the Kia driver and Rodriguez, both died at the scene. 

On the other hand, the emergency team rushed Favela to Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries. 

Favela’s two passengers, 61-year-old Maria de Jesus Carvajal and 58-year-old Susana Pulido Olmos, both from Winton, sustained minor injuries. Paramedics took them to Doctors Medical Center.
