Thomas Pierson Dead in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on 600 4th Street

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 6, 2021) – Early Monday morning, Thomas Pierson, 40, died in a pedestrian crash on 600 4th Street.
 
The incident occurred at about 12:54 a.m. in the 600 block of 4th Street. The officers came to the scene and found out that a man walked in the roadway.
 
Then, a driver of a vehicle hit the pedestrian. However, that driver stopped to tend to the pedestrian. Then, another vehicle hit the driver of the first vehicle.
 
The second vehicle’s driver stayed on the scene and waited for officers, and was later taken to a local hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene. The Kern County coroner later identified the victim as 40-year-old Thomas Pierson.
 
Responders took the driver who helped the pedestrian to the hospital with moderate injuries.
 
The authorities do not suspect alcohol as a factor in the crash.
