30 People Hurt in Apache Junction Auto Accident near Apache Trail and Lost Dutchman Boulevard
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (September 10, 2024) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Thomas Kain after an alarming vehicle crash near Apache Trail.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge near Apache Trail and Lost Dutchman Boulevard.
According to Apache Junction Police Officer Darrin Hatch, 73-year-old Kain exited a bar, drove his Ford pickup truck, and crashed into the front of a building.
Moreover, officers confirmed that 10 people were transported to a hospital, five people drove themselves to a nearby hospital, and a total of 15 people were treated at the scene by responders. Authorities said that among the injured, one person sustained critical injuries, and other patients suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, authorities arrested the driver of the Ford, Kain, on suspicion of DUI.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
