Thomas Jonathan Martinez Arrested in Crippling Pedestrian Crash on 14 Freeway [Agua Dulce, CA]

1 Person Hospitalized in Agua Dulce Pedestrian Accident on 14 Freeway near Agua Dulce Canyon Road

AGUA DULCE, CA (November 6, 2024) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Thomas Jonathan Martinez after a crippling pedestrian crash on 14 Freeway.

The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. on 14 Freeway near Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

CHP Newhall Area Office spokesperson Carlos Burgos-Lopez said that a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing outside his broken-down vehicle.

Responders transported the pedestrian to a hospital with major injuries.

Officers arrested a passenger of the injured pedestrian, identified as Thomas Jonathan Martinez, for public intoxication and delaying and/or obstructing officers.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
