67-Year-Old Edmonds Man Dies 2 Years after Accident on 405 Freeway
TUKWILA, WA (May 5, 2018) – A 67-year-old man of Edmonds who was injured in a crash on the 405 Freeway back in 2016 died on Saturday morning.
According to Washington State Patrol, Thomas J Smith was struck by another vehicle after being involved in an accident with another driver on May 28, 2016. The crash took place along the on-ramp from I-5 to the northbound I-405.
Smith was hit when he attempted to cross the on-ramp. He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The 20-year-old man of Renton who hit Smith was not arrested at the time, but authorities said on Saturday that they are still investigating the cause of the 2016 collision.
