Thomas Hosford Dies after Crash Cause by Fallen Object on Interstate 90 in Ritzville

Ritzville, WA (April 27, 2022) –  Wednesday afternoon, 73-year-old Thomas M. Hosford died after a fallen object hit his truck which then leads to a crash on the freeway overpass.

The fatal incident happened at around  3:15 p.m. on April 27 west on I-90.

The Washington State Patrol said Hosford was driving a black 2000 Ford pickup when a large, heavy steel plate piece pierced the front windshield of the truck, striking the driver. 

The truck then went off the road and traveled through the center median before ending up on Hills Road at the freeway overpass.

Hosford died from his injuries.

Currently, the WSP is seeking information and witnesses to the crash, including information about the identification of the steel plate piece.
