Thomas Dyer Identified as Hit-and-Run Victim on Scott Road [Menifee, CA]

Male Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Leon Road

MENIFEE, CA (July 26, 2018) – A man was found dead Thursday morning following a suspected hit-and-run collision near Leon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened sometime between Wednesday night, July 25, and the morning of Thursday, July 26. A bicyclist was heading east on Scott Road when a vehicle struck him and fled the scene.

Authorities received reports about the crash shortly after 9:30 AM. They responded to the scene and found a man lifeless along the south shoulder of the roadway. The victim was initially described as a male in his early 50s with a thin build, approximately weighing about 135 lbs.

He was later identified as Thomas Dyer in a touching message shared by his son on social media.

The CHP is now asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the hit-and-run driver . Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Officer Strom at the Temecula CHP office at (951) 506-2000 as soon as possible.
