Thidavanh Anna Philavanh Dead in Tragic DUI Crash on East 36th Street [Tucson, AZ]

1 Person Arrested in Tucson Auto Accident on East 36th Street and South Kino Parkway

TUCSON, AZ (July 25, 2024) – On Tuesday, Thidavanh Anna Philavanh died in a tragic DUI crash on East 36th Street.

The incident happened on East 36th Street and South Kino Parkway.

According to the Tucson Police Department, a Chrysler 300 veered left onto the southbound lanes and collided with a Honda Odyssey and a Jeep Wrangler.

Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the Honda, identified as 49-year-old Philavanh, and the driver of the jeep, to Banner-University Medical Center, where Philavanh was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Chrysler 300, identified as 22-year-old Leonardo Daniel Cruz, for Second Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Felony Criminal Damage.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
