Late Evening Hit-and-Run Collision in Thermal Injures One Driver
THERMAL, CA (March 14, 2019) – One driver was injured following a hit-and-run crash late Thursday evening in Thermal.
The crash happened around 11:42 p.m. near the intersection of 70th Avenue and Pierce Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles were involved, one of them went about 30 feet off the roadway and into the brush.
When officers arrived, both vehicles were on the right shoulder and one of the drivers sustained unspecified injuries. The motorist was taken by ambulance to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in an unknown condition.
The other driver reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Both vehicles were towed away from the crash site.
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
