One Dead and Two Injured in Two Collisions near Thermal Farm Fields
THERMAL, CA (May 6, 2018) – A hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Avenue 60 resulted in one person dead, early Sunday morning. The same vehicle was involved in a second accident shortly after fleeing.
According to a spokesperson from the Riverside County Fire Department, a pedestrian was struck by a Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Avenue 60 and Johnson Street, just before 4:00 AM. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The driver fled from the scene, but was involved in a second collision involving three vehicles, just fifteen minutes later. Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries, but no additional information was disclosed.
Officials with the California Highway Patrol continue to investigate the collisions. No additional information has been released at this time concerning the identities of the people involved, or the events leading up to either crash.
