1 Person Dead After 3-Vehicle Crash on SR 281 in Grant County

Grant County, WA (September 30, 2024) – On Monday, one person died and 31-year-old Thalia Arceo-Padilla sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash on SR 281.

The Washington State Patrol reports a traffic fatality in rural Grant County. 

The collision happened shortly after 3:20 p.m. on Monday. Thalia Arceo-Padilla, 31, from East Wenatchee, was driving north on SR 281, just north of George, accompanied by an unidentified passenger. 

Andrea Massey, 29, from Quincy, Wash., was also traveling northbound, while Angel Guerrero, 24, from Zillah, Wash., was heading southbound.

Arceo-Padilla rear-ended Massey’s vehicle and then crossed the center line, colliding with Guerrero. 

All three vehicles ended up in a ditch. Neither Massey nor Guerrero sustained any injuries, but Arceo-Padilla was injured and treated at Harborview Medical Center. 

Sadly, Arceo-Padilla’s passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the identity of the passenger has not yet been revealed by authorities.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and it is unclear if intoxicants were involved. 

However, charges against Arceo-Padilla are reportedly pending.
