Texas Woman Mary Hardin Killed in Highway 41 Collision [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (May 20, 2024) – 65-year-old Mary Hardin of Helotes, Texas, was killed in a Highway 41 collision Saturday night.

It was about 8:30 when the three vehicles collided on Manning Avenue.

Investigators said a Ford F250 driven by 54-years-old David Alvarado of Madera was northbound on Highway 41.

Suddenly, the Ford rear-ended a Nissan Sentra driven by Mary Hardin. The Sentra then rear-ended the Chevrolet Camaro in front of it.

Unfortunately, Mary Hardin died at the crash scene.  

Her husband and passenger, 69-year-old Paul Hardin, received major injuries. 

The Camaro’s sole occupant, 31-year-old Mark Anthony Rivera of Fresno, incurred minor injuries.

The F250 driver, David Alvarado, sustained minor injuries.

Paul Hardin, Rivera, and Alvarado, were taken to an area hospital.

Officers said Mary and Paul Hardin were serving as missionaries with the Mormon church.

Meanwhile, the authorities arrested Alvarado and booked him for suspicion of driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
