Motorcyclist Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 2 near Roosevelt Road
MONROE, WA (August 18, 2019) – Authorities identified 62-year-old Terry Johnson of Monroe as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 2, Sunday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at about 11:33 AM. Witnesses saw a brown 2012 Washington Choppers Kiwi Motorcycle passing cars on the two-lane highway when it crossed the centerline. There, it collided with a green 2015 Kia Soul head-on.
Unfortunately, Johnson succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Kia Soul driver, identified as 68-year old Valery Startsev of Everett and his passenger, 70-year old Genrietta Startseva, suffered unspecified injuries. Emergency responders transported them to Providence Hospital Colby Campus for treatment.
Authorities listed “Crossing Center Line” as the cause of the fatal crash. No charges are pending.
