According to reports, the vehicle struck a tree and caught fire at around 10:40 p.m Tuesday.
The incident that killed Ms. Williams, Mr. Washington, and one other happened near the North Main Street off-ramp, on the northbound 680 Freeway.
The CHP revealed that the driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix probably took the exit while speeding. Then, the vehicle went off the road into dirt vegetation and struck a tree head-on.

Meanwhile, the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office identified a 47-year-old passenger in the vehicle as Dimitri Washington from Oakland. Later, they identified the female victim as 18-year-old Williams.
Furthermore, the police didn’t reveal the identity of the third passenger due to pending family notification.
Fire crews put off the fire.
Moreover, the CHP didn’t confirm whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, they administer an autopsy on all three victims to help find out.
Also, the agency is searching for witnesses to the collision. Thus, they encourage anyone with information to contact their Contra Costa Office at 925-646-4980.
