4 Firefighters and 1 Driver Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Crash on FM 1774 in Montgomery County

Montgomery County, TX (February 8, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, five people sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle crash on FM 1774.

Crews from the Magnolia Fire Department in Montgomery County, Texas, are actively clearing a crash that involved one of their fire engines on Thursday afternoon, as officials have reported.

The incident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. on FM 1774 near FM 149 in Magnolia, approximately an hour and 14 minutes outside of Houston.

The Magnolia Fire Department reported that the collision involved Engine 187, which was carrying four firefighters returning from a call at the time of the accident. 

Authorities transported all four firefighters to HCA Tomball, where, according to a later update from fire officials, they are in good spirits and OK.

SkyEye captured footage of the scene, showing the truck flipped onto its side next to railroad tracks. The crash also involved a second vehicle, an SUV with one occupant, who was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be doing fine.

The cause of the crash has not been immediately disclosed by officials.

As the investigation into the accident continued, the fire department announced that the roads would remain closed.
