24-Year-Old Terilyn Peralta Killed in Modesto DUI Collision
MODESTO, CA (December 22, 2018) – Early Saturday morning, 24-year-old Terilyn Peralta from Salida was killed in a DUI crash on Highway 99.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 12:30 AM just north of Pelandale Avenue.
As per reports, a 2004 GMC Yukon was driving north on the southbound lanes of the highway when it struck a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Perlata, who was traveling in the correct direction in a head-on collision. Due to the impact of the crash, both vehicles became fully engulfed in flames.
First responders arrived at the scene of the accident and pronounced Perlata dead. A GoFundMe page was set-up to help Peralta’s family with expenses.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
