William Hatchett, Teresa Thompson Injured in Ferndale Car Accident
FERNDALE, CA (April 15, 2019) – Two people suffered injuries in a car collision on Main Street and Joe Moser Lane on April 11 in Ferndale.
Due to the incident, authorities rerouted the Main Street traffic to Hovander Road and LaBounty Drive. Aid crews came at the scene around 11:45 a.m.
Authorities found a heavily damaged on the front-left side of a Ferndale Police Department 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. They also located a 2016 Subaru Impreza 4-door hatchback with substantial damage to the driver’s side door.
According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Fire Chief Larry Hoffman, medics used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the Subaru driver.
Meanwhile, the aid crew took the Chevrolet driver by an ambulance for basic life support protocol (BLS) for precautionary reasons. On the other hand, medical responders transported the Subaru driver via advanced life support protocol (ALS) via a medic unit.
Moreover, WSP Trooper Heather Axtman said WSP investigators are currently investigating the collision. During the investigation, Main Street remained shut down for three hours.
At 5:00 p.m., WSP detectives released their investigation results through a press memo. Their investigation determined 64-year-old Teresa Thomspon of Ferndale as the Subaru driver.
