Teofilo Garcia Uribe Arrested after Deadly Crash on Meridian Street and Kellogg Road [Bellingham, WA]

Fatality Reported in Bellingham Accident on Meridian Street and Kellogg Road

 
BELLINGHAM, WA (January 8, 2023) – Friday night, authorities arrested Teofilo Garcia Uribe following a deadly crash on Meridian Street and Kellogg Road.
 
The incident occurred at around 9:45 p.m. on Meridian Street and Kellogg Road.
 
According to reports, first responders came to a report of a fully involved car fire in the intersection.
 
When the Bellingham Police Department (BPD) officials arrived, they found a suspect vehicle and detained the driver. Also, they confirmed that the incident led to the fatality.
 
Moreover, officers confirmed that they shut down Meridian Street to all traffic between Kellogg and Stuart Roads for several hours.
 
Then, at around 1:40 a.m., officers booked 36-year-old Teofilo Garcia Uribe into Whatcom County Jail. He’s currently facing charges including, a hit and run involving death and driving under the influence. He’s also charged with vehicular homicide while driving under the influence or in a reckless manner.
 
The authorities will file the charges in Whatcom County Superior Court.
 
Also, Uribe remained in custody without the opportunity to post bail pending a preliminary court appearance.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
