17-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Car on Highway 101 in Templeton
TEMPLETON, CA (March 5, 2019) – A female teen was killed in a pedestrian crash late Tuesday evening on Highway 101 in Templeton.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 10:50 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 at Las Tablas Road.
A 17-year-old girl from Paso Robles was walking on the right hand shoulder of northbound Highway 101. when she stepped into the roadway directly into the path of an oncoming sedan.
The girl was struck by the right front fender/windshield area. Soon after, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released pending notification of her family.
The Paso Robles Unified School District says the teen killed was a student within the district.
The crash closed one lane on northbound Highway 101. The Las Tablas on-ramp was also closed while officers worked on the scene.
The Atascadero driver is not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, CHP said.
No arrests have been made at this time but the incident remains under investigation.
