1 Killed in Rimrock Lake Auto Accident on Tieton Reservoir Road

 
RIMROCK LAKE, WA (June 16, 2020) – Early Friday afternoon, a male teenager died in a rollover crash on Tieton Reservoir Road.
 
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman at about 2:00 p.m. According to her, she was involved in a car crash on Tieton Reservoir Road around a quarter-mile off Highway 12. The woman added that the boy was pinned under her vehicle.
 
After an investigation, the authorities determined that a 19-year-old woman drove a vehicle on a narrow dirt road with four passengers. However, the driver lost control and the male front passenger was thrown off. Reports revealed that the passenger didn’t wear a seatbelt during the crash.
 
When the first responders came to the crash scene, they located one dead person. His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Furthermore, the police didn’t disclose the age of the victim.
 
The police do not believe that the driver traveled while impaired.
 
“This goes to show that seatbelts need to be worn all of the time, even when traveling off-road,” the Sheriff’s official said.
