Injuries Reported in 2-Car DUI Crash on Rainier Road

Rainier, WA (March 6, 2023) – On Saturday evening, a 2-vehicle collision on Rainier Road Southeast claimed the life of an 18-year-old girl and injured 2 others.

Deputies say that the fatal DUI crash happened around 5:45 p.m. at the 13800 block of Rainier Road Southeast.

According to authorities an 18-year-old male driver on a northbound vehicle lost control of his car after hitting a curb.

Afterward, the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and crashed into another car. Officials say that the 17-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, while his 18-year-old female passenger died at the scene. Paramedics transported the injured driver to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old woman was driving the other vehicle, she suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Medics transported her to Providence St. Peter Hospital.

Authorities processed the teenage driver for DUI and will be facing charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.

Furthermore, Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the 2-car DUI crash and have not released additional information at this time.
