1 Hospitalized after San Jose Pedestrian Accident near Alum Rock Avenue

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 10, 2020) – Late Monday night, a teenage girl sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash near Alum Rock Avenue.
 
According to reports, a car struck the 17-year-old girl along Alum Rock Avenue while participating in a vigil for a man killed in a shooting. The man had died early Monday in a shooting on the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at 10:17 p.m. According to Officer Gina Tepoorten, the vehicle hit her while she stands in the road near Alum Rock Avenue and 33rd Street.
 
Furthermore, the involved car was an eastbound 2017 black Honda Accord on Alum Rock Avenue.
 
Afterward, the driver quickly stopped. However, the people at the vigil swarmed and pounded on the car. Thus, the driver drove away and went to a different location and contacted the police.
 
Meanwhile, responders took the girl to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
