16-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized after Collision with Patrol Car near Rio Linda Boulevard
DEL PASO HEIGHTS, CA (July 22, 2018) – A teenage boy was hospitalized Sunday evening after he was injured in a police pursuit on Eleanor Avenue.
As per reports, the collision happened shortly after 10:00 PM in the 900 block of Eleanor Avenue, near Rio Linda Boulevard. A 16-year-old boy was allegedly fleeing on a bicycle for an unknown violation and was being pursued by a Sacramento Police cruiser.
A siren and lights were used to signal the teenage cyclist to stop before the patrol car struck the bicycle from behind.
The unidentified teen was complaining of pains and was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. Recent updates confirmed that the boy is in stable condition and will recover soon. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the collision. No other information has been released to the public at this time.
