Bicycle Accident in Merced Leaves Boy Critically Injured
MERCED, CA (September 20, 2019) – A teenager was severely injured in a bicycle accident on Paulson Avenue Thursday morning.
Authorities reported the crash at about 8:30 AM in the intersection of Paulson Avenue and Yosemite Avenue. Medics arrived near Cruickshank Middle School.
Officials stated that a vehicle was making a right turn on a green light when she struck the victim while riding his bicycle. The boy was on his way to school. Per reports, he was not wearing a helmet.
In addition, the driver cooperated with police and stated told she did not see the teen in the crosswalk. Due to the collision, the victim sustained serious head injuries. As a result, he was flown to Valley Children’s Hospital. However, there has been no update on his medical status.
Furthermore, there has been no further information released about the incident.
