Terrina Edwards Suspected of DUI in Fatal Rollover Crash on 215 Freeway
MURRIETA, CA (September 25, 2019) – A 14-year-old boy was killed following a DUI rollover crash Wednesday evening in Murrieta.
The crash happened around 8:35 p.m. on southbound 215 Freeway at Los Alamos Road.
Authorities said a 1998 Toyota 4Runner, driven by 39-year-old Terrina Edwards with two teenage passengers, was traveling south on the freeway. For unknown reasons, the vehicle lost control and overturned several times.
As a result, the 14-year-old boy was ejected from the car and died at the scene. Authorities said he was not wearing a seat belt.
Paramedics transported Edwards and the 16-year-old girl, who was sitting at the back seat, to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Authorities suspected Edwards was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. They plan to book her under arrest on suspicion of DUI, vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment.
