Pedestrian Hurt after Hit-and-Run Crash near Lakeside High School
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (September 25, 2019) – A 16-year-old pedestrian suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash near Lakeside High School, Wednesday morning.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 8:30 AM. The victim attempted to cross in a marked crosswalk on Riverside Drive and Stadium Way. There, a black Nissan Sentra struck the pedestrian.
Emergency responders rendered aid to the injured pedestrian. Updates on the victim’s current medical condition remain unknown. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan did not stop to render aid and immediately fled the area.
The preliminary investigation identified the driver as a 16-year-old male. Deputies will forward the case to the Riverside County Juvenile Probation Office for possible criminal charges to be filed against the driver. Those who wish to cooperate can call Deputy Holland at (951) 245-3300.
