17-Year-Old Boy Victim of Scooter Crash on Genesee Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 4, 2019) – Police hospitalized a teen after a scooter accident on Genesee Avenue, Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place near the intersection of Richland Street around 7:00 PM. Based on an initial report, the 17-year-old boy rode a non-motorized scooter when a Ford Focus struck him. After that, he jumped over a raised wall into a westbound lane on the freeway.
The paramedics arrived for needed medical attention. The victim sustained a brain bleed and multiple facial lacerations. Paramedics sent him to a hospital. However, his injuries are considered non-life- threatening. The 38-year-old driver did not sustain injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a cause of the accident.
