Pickup Truck Versus Big Rig Crash on South Walnut Avenue Killed Teen Driver
Fresno, CA (August 27, 2021) – On Thursday night, a crash on South Walnut Avenue involving a big rig and a pickup truck left a teen driver dead.
The fatal collision took place on August 26 near Easton on South Walnut Avenue north of Jefferson Avenue around 7 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved at least two vehicles. The driver of the big rig was going north on Walnut Avenue while the teen driver of the pickup was going west on Jefferson Avenue.
CHP reported that the two vehicles collided as a result, the truck went under the trailer of the big rig.
The impact of the crash pinned the truck driver in the vehicle. Emergency responders extricated him from the wreck however, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The now-deceased victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.
Due to the lack of details, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. Furthermore, there has been no information if the big rig driver sustained injuries from the crash.
