16-Year-Old Girl Injured in Kennewick Car Crash
KENNEWICK, WA (October 30, 2019) – A 16-year-old girl crashed into a fire hydrant while texting and driving on 19th Avenue.
The girl crashed her car and overturned. She sustained injuries following the crash.
The police and firefighters came to the scene on West 19th Avenue in Kennewick, at about 12:20 p.m. upon reports of a rollover crash.
When they arrived, they located the car on its top in the yard of a neighboring residence. They also found a broken fire hydrant. It’s torn of from its foundation and lying in the middle of the street.
Firefighters managed to free the girl from the wreckage.
Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation revealed that the teen driver struck the fire hydrant while texting and driving at the same time. The crash caused the car to overturn.
The teen received an infraction for 2nd-degree negligent driving.
