Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Accident near Oak Avenue in Orangevale
ORANGEVALE, CA (April 14, 2020) – Early Friday morning, a male teenager died in a pedestrian accident on Hazel Avenue in Orangevale.
Officers first received reports around 6:15 a.m., near Oak Avenue. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol’s East Sacramento office, the teen ran out to Hazel Avenue for unknown reasons. There, a 45-year-old man driving a vehicle eventually struck the pedestrian.
California Highway Patrol declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene, due to the extent of his condition. His identity has not been released pending family notification.
The surrounding area on Hazel Avenue was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Due to a lack of information, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatal pedestrian accident on Hazel Avenue.
