Teen Boy Killed in Three-Car Crash on North Reseda Boulevard [Porter Ranch, CA]

1 Dead and Several Injured in Porter Ranch Multi-Vehicle Accident on North Reseda Boulevard

 
PORTER RANCH, CA (October 23, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a teen boy died in a three-car crash on North Reseda Boulevard.
 
The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of North Reseda Boulevard.
 
According to reports, a southbound vehicle drove over the double yellow lines on Reseda Boulevard. Then, it struck a northbound car and hit another northbound car.
 
Officers also confirmed that the crash damaged a parked vehicle.
 
As a result, seven adults and three children suffered injuries in the crash. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy died at the scene. Then, responders took the other nine patients via ambulance to local hospitals.
 
Then, six of them were listed in critical condition. Meanwhile, the other three were in fair condition.
 
Officers suspect that the deceased patient was a passenger in the southbound car that crossed the double yellow lines.
 
Also, they believe that speed may have been a factor.
 
“It’s a little heartbreaking that you have the family members here and you have crisis response here speaking with them,” said Lt. Matt Bielsky of the LAPD. “For those of us who have families, it is tough to see this all the time. And we’ve been doing this for many years and every time, it is tough dealing with the family members and what they have to go through. We just ask that everybody slow down, especially now that it’s drizzling and the rainy season is coming up, so just please slow down.”
 
Furthermore, authorities shut down Reseda Boulevard between San Fernando Mission Boulevard and Chatsworth Street in both directions.
 
“Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area, and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available,” the Fire Department added.
